ACHS History Club

The History Club here at Amelia County High School allows students to explore and experience the history of our community, state, and nation outside of the classroom. In the past we have visited places such as Jamestown, Appomattox Courthouse, The Holocaust Museum in Richmond, Va., Tredegar Iron Works also in Richmond, Va., and Cite of Henricus in Chesterfield, Va.   We have raised and donated money to help preserve and bring awareness to these historical sites. Last year, we completed a three-year long project of a time capsule that will be reopened in the senior class of 2036. For this year, the History Club is going to discover our own personal history by researching and analyzing different documents in order for members to create their own family tree.
