ACHS Principal Mrs. Parcilla Salley
With a vision for excellence in education, I am eager to begin my first year as principal of Amelia County High School. I believe that a word that best describes me is passionate. I am extremely passionate about education and making certain that all students receive a quality education. I was born and reared on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. I am married to my college sweetheart, and we are the proud parents of two boys, our eldest son is sixteen, and our youngest son is ten. Moreover, I remain personally and professionally committed to leading others in the field of education. I have successfully served as an educator for the past eighteen years in the state of Virginia. I was a Business Teacher and Track and Field Coach (Chesterfield County), Assistant Principal and Principal (Charles City County), Director of the Amelia Nottoway Technical Center and CTE Director (Nottoway County), and Assistant Principal (Amelia County).
Additionally, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia State University, and I also received a Teaching Certification in Business Education from Saint Augustine’s College (NC). I obtained my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University, and I am currently pursuing my Ed.D. at Liberty University. My hobbies include spending time with my family, reading novels, and encouraging my sons’ participation in track and field and football. My goal for the 2014-2015 academic school year is to move Amelia County High School from “Good” to “Great”! GO RAIDERS!
