ACHS Assistant Principal Mr. Juvenal Abrego

I am very excited about the opportunity to return to ACHS. It is a sincere joy for me to serve ACHS students as they prepare to face the challenges of a forever changing world. I was born in the Republic of Panama, where I taught English as a second language for five years. I had the opportunity to travel to other countries to implement and train teachers in the teaching of English to Speakers of other languages. In 2005, I moved to the United States to teach Spanish as a foreign language in South Carolina. After two successful years of teaching, I became the coordinator of the ESL program in Spartanburg School District 2. In 2008, I moved to Farmville, Virginia where I worked as a Spanish teacher and the site coordinator for the GED program. In 2010, I began my career as an adjunct instructor in various community colleges and universities in Virginia: JTCC, JSR, VCU, VSU, VUU and Germana. In 2016, I joined the Virginia Department Education's team of directors for the Residential Governor's school Summer programs that are offered throughout various school divisions in the Commonwealth. Last year, I had the pleasure to serve as an elementary school assistant principal in Richmond, VA where I have gained a wealth of experiences in the areas of instruction, professional development, special education and academic as well as behavior interventions. My academic preparation includes:‚Äč
