ACHS 2016 Black History ProgramACHS held a special program in honor of Black History. The program featured a welcoming message from School Board Member, Mr. Glen Wilkerson, followed by ACHS Band performing musical selections "Think" by Aretha Franklin and "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers. ACHS Men of Honor and Ladies of Distinction hosted a "Who am I" history trivia. ACHS Piano Lab, Girls Ensemble / Concert Choir and Chamber Ensemble led by Mrs. Litten performed several musicals throughout the program. Next, this year's guest speaker, Honorable Judge Roger L. Gregory. presented a wonderful and motivational speech. In closing, ACHS Senior, Ms. Shardae Royal played the drums and sang with her father Mr. Royal who also sang and played the keyboard. In closing remarks, Principal, Mrs. Salley and Assistant Principal, Mr. Hudson thanked all those who had participated and especially guest speaker, Judge Gregory presenting him with a engraved gavel as a token of appreciation.
