ACHS #showedup and #shined yesterday by attending Southside Electric Coop's Lineworker for a Day event. They got to learn the ins and outs of the profession and got to witness and even try a few lineman tasks!
Spanish 2 students recently studied the Kuna culture of Panamá, where they learned about the "molas”. The "molas," are intricate pieces of fabric art that are traditionally sewn onto women's blouses and have been a longstanding tradition in the Kuna community. The students recreated their own versions of these beautiful works of art. Using paper, they carefully layered and arranged different colors to create stunning, eye-catching designs that showcased their creativity and skill. In their Spanish 3 and 4 classes, ACHSstudents learned about the influence of geography and weather on traditional cuisine. As part of their lesson, they prepared a tropical smoothie called "Batido tropical" from Costa Rica, being good #RAIDERS careful to follow SAFE food handling procedures by wearing gloves. After completing their task, they were able to enjoy the refreshing and delicious results of their hard work! #elevvateeducatorsva
