The ACHS Agriculture Department is pleased to announce that two students have received awards for their participation in the annual Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District poster contest. Senior Horticulture student, Taylor Phillips, earned third place in the print poster division and Senior Greenhouse Management student, Chelsey Poe, earned top honors in the digital poster division. The theme this year is "May the Forest Be With You Always" and there were over 600 posters submitted for judging! Both students displayed a true understanding of the importance of forests. On April 10th, 2024, ACHS held the first-ever Spanish Spelling Bee Competition with 32 students from Spanish language levels 1-4. The ACHS FFA hosted Field Day of the Past representatives for a display of antique equipment and tools on Monday, March 18. On display were tractors, lawn tractors and equipment that spans over a century of agriculture production. 🚜 Representatives spoke with students about farming methods over the years, the economic impacts of agriculture and how to get involved in your local community as a volunteer.
